The Budden Family
From many places, one path.
We didn’t grow up in the same house, or even the same country.
But somehow, the world brought us together.
Twenty children—born across different lands, languages, and lifetimes—
brought to Australia not by plan, but by fate.
And like many of the young people we now walk beside,
our beginnings were marked by separation.
We were removed from our family at a young age,
scattered across homes,
systems,
and stories not of our choosing.
Foster care was not gentle with us.
But we learned to adapt.
To hold on.
To find our own footing when the ground kept shifting.
There were moments of loneliness.
Moments that asked more of us than we were ready to give.
But in that stretch of uncertainty,
something else began to grow—
not just survival,
but the quiet longing to turn pain into purpose.
We stayed connected, even when apart.
And as we grew, we found our way back to each other—
stronger, grounded, and clear about what we wanted to do with all that we’d lived through.
We didn’t just want to move on.
We wanted to build something better.
And so, 2Kaizen was born—
from our shared roots,
from our scars and our strength,
from the simple truth that no young person should feel alone in their becoming.
We’ve walked that hard road.
Now, we walk it with others.
Not because we have all the answers,
but because we remember what it felt like
to need someone who understood.
This is our story.
One of many beginnings, long journeys, and quiet returns.
And it’s only just getting started.
